GARAGE FIGHT
I've included the short preceding scene here, a contrast of a slow track to reveal a gun, which will play a bigger part later in the story.
Fights are messy, chaotic and quick, so hand-held is usually the choice of many directors (me included!). It works well, but I also wanted a bigger dramatic end to earn the classic 'Dumph dumph' of the Eastenders theme. The answer was a combination of hand-held and a crane for the final reveal of Phil. I think in post-production, they crushed this shot to make it darker, as there was a fabulous bloom of blood behind his head - but perhaps compliance stepped in....
